Outlaw Siblings

This thing is heavily based on one dream I saw over a year ago... There were two skeletal, somewhat salkahi-looking creatures, sister and brother who were cursed magically to look like this before their birth - bones were outside and flesh inside, but otherwise they were normal...as normal as they could be in situation like that.


Their names were Huldur and Hogor - not common salkahi names but neither their appearance was common. Huldur, sister, had a wooden spear and Hogor carried two short strange swords. Creatures were twins and spent their whole time together, not because they would like to but they kinda had to. Common creatures never understood their outer appearance, it was so abnormal. Siblings fought and argued a lot by themselves but were nice for anybody who was not afraid of their skeletal look. They had to have learnt to be warriors - too many times those ones afraid of abnormal beings were threatened their live.

Siblings were salkahis by heart and mind - their parents were normal. Everything was just very bad luck. Before their birth their mother was hunting alone. She noticed one rabbit, shot the arrow and hit. Rabbit screamed and changed its shape to dramatically bigger creature, Omega Strahl who had lurked here in the shape of a common rabbit. He was madly angry for that salkahi who dared to hurt him, sweared you'll pay this with lives of your unborn children. Next moment poor salkahi felt deep pain in her stomach, and fainted.
She was found soon from exactly same place by other salkahis who were started to worry where she is. She was all good shape, just shocked for what was happened and deeply afraid if spirit's curse was true. But she still felt twins' movements. They were alive. Yet not the same.
Female salkahi didn't feel good after that day, though. She wasn't too good shape when twins were born and when she saw them, she died just for shock. They WERE alive and acted like salkahi babies usually but had skeleton outside, flesh inside and were mutated looking anyway. Nobody really known how they can even exist. Somebody who knew a bit of occultist things suspected this was that curse, because there were creatures who can screw common laws of nature and make them work.
Siblings' father, regardless his doubts and disgust, decided to try grow them no matter what. He realized his children were like normal salkahis after all, and they had strong will to survive. He and some others got used to twins' appearance, some not. Every day father salkahi had to convince his kids were normal regardless their outer appearance. It was hard against those who were sure that walking skeletons are definitely not normal. But he managed to teach all necessary to Huldur and Hogor before stress killed him. Siblings were thirteen years old [compared to human aging salkahis grow up faster and age faster so they were just matured] and left to wander anywhere their way goes.

Not sure which part of them are decoration and which are not, at least they have skeletal waist so they use thick clothes to cover that.


...This was supposed to be just a sketch but I continued it too long...... I should colour them someday, at least they have something red what I remember from that dream...
