MoA has had the alias "Dark Tiger", but I had almost forgotten why it even exists. Until last weekend I watched a nature document about tigers and suddenly remembered why the tiger. Back to 2002 when I created MoA, tiger was one of the main bases. Sort a feline look, strong body structure, even that white collar and fluffy cheeks...thanks to tigers. (Not to say I also referred myself as tiger than any other fancy animal: independent, strong bodystructure, yadda yadda...) ... Then added all other things like wings, colour, anatomy, etc. and MoA looks no tiger at all. x> ...MoA has surprisingly much influences from my real self. Black is my favourite colour (main colour), so are blues and purples (wings and other feathers) and crimson (eyes), I always [yes, ALWAYS] wear some headgear outside (helmet), I have long limbs (so has MoA), I have sort a heavy body structure... Etc etc and nobody's interested. x> (But I've never had black hair, I prefer red dyed hair...my natural hair colour is just lame.)
Liners, colour pencils. This was sort an expreimental picture I drew without refs and so (magenta feathers are a way too small, otherwise seems like I can draw MoA just by memory)...aaand tried how intensive black I can get using colour pencils only (not seriously intensive with Polychromos on this paper...but the picture itself is good).
Nice work!
Great light contrast and coloring.
you're amazing
