Horror Horses

I can't probably create a normal animal character to save my life. You remember when I made a guinea pig character? Or a frog? Not even talking about what happens to birds... So yes, these ones are horses then. Oh well, they're still more recognizable than lots of so said wolves around dA.

Anyway. Somebody may remember when I drew this and soon after it this not even so long time ago. Surprisingly I started to like them, but I didn't want serious pony characters. So, I started to refine them, I even thought if I turned them to some other animals than horses, but they looked right as horses so let them be horses.
Then I made this this-was-supposed-to-be-a-sketch thing to test their colours.

The white unicorn stallion is called Argos (because: if it has 100 eyes, it just MUST be named Argos). And yes, he has a hundred eyes all around his body, but it's not necessary to keep them open all the time. Rather that he's just peeking with one eye. He doesn't have eyes where any normal animal should have them, just deep hollow eyesockets covered with skin. His mane and tail looks like being abused with excessive use of hairspray. His front half is well built, strong and muscular, but his behind seems like starved to death. Like that would matter, his purpose is not to be a regular horse. His jaw seems to be stuck, he can't open it anymore and he usually seem to have some kind of smile stuck on his face.

The black mare is called Mahr. She is now smiling, that's not her basic expression. She could be described as a quite small horse with somewhat many physiological flaws. Her back is long, she has loose joints, legs are thin (you can't see everything here), stomach is sagging and she has really loose skin that makes wrinkles all around her body (yes, if she looks muscular because of all that shine, blame me. Mahr is just much of loose, unmuscular skin.) Also, as her purpose of life seems to be causing psychological fears, she rips her face skin out of its natural place a quite often. That has caused some scars to her face (she really shouldn't do that too often, healing speed is limited) and her eyelids are sagging inside out. Through her life she has displaced her skin on and off a plenty of times, but it seems not to bother Mahr too much. Her mane and tail are similarly unnatural than Argos'. Mahr also has wings, but like Argos' eyes, Mahr's wings are completely hidden when she doesn't need them.

Also, they're a legal couple. Have been that a long while and they get very well along. Their age is that awkward middleway, when they are too old to be middle-aged, but too young to be clearly old. So, oldish anyway. They probably looked better when they were young, but age has made them to look like they are now.
Mahr has wings and is not bothered of her masochistic behaviour, and Argos has his eyes, some raw power and he can hide both himself and his mate during less creepier times like in daylight, but otherwise they don't have any extraspecial powers. They just scare the hell out of most of other creatures. Especially Mahr is physically weak, if her psychological creepyness does not work, she can't do much (except fly away if she has time to expand her wings, or hope that Argos is near and does something). She doesn't want to cause physical harm at all and never wishes anybody's death. Mahr, believe or not, has pretty optimistic personality. One part of her life philosophy is that if you can't win somebody, be their friend. The postcreated creatures especially are not really scared of skinless faces, so the horrendous horse couple has learnt to know some of them. Mahr likes random chatting whenever there's somebody who can't be scared. Argos doesn't speak that much, but he still speaks. He doesn't move his mouth or lips at all, the speak just comes out of nowhere. Mahr doesn't question it, for somebody else it could be disturbing.



Guess what is funny? First you try make a good horse anatomy, and then screw it so it is wrong but in a right way.

Black ink, a bit of white ink, some colours for the eyes and Mahr's teeth.

Too much talk before even any better images. And everything started when I was sitting on my friend's flat and watching her playing Persona 4, when she mentioned that this monster is disturbing (White Rider, the disturbing part was the horse with some blue eyes around its body). That leaded to one randomcreepypony, and it leaded another, and finally I got a couple of new characters out of it. So, this litte was needed: a random comment.
