This matters always, even if you have commissioned your character/s, I'm the one who made that image and have rights to it. [But I won't sell prints that include anybody else's personal characters.]
The BIG YES: Get INSPIRED, don't copy. For example if you see a nice pose or character design I have made, and get idea to create something new, go on and do it. Good inspiration leads to something, that nobody could say it's traced pose or stolen design. It's your own thing, even if I gave the spark for you to create it.

You fail to disappoint.
He wasn't able to steal this particular package from me, however he did take the item card that gets put in the mail box that alerts me that I have a package waiting in the post office. So I had no idea I had a a package waiting for me, until finally I went in and asked the ladies if there was anything back there for me even tho I didn't have the item card to prove it. At first they said there was nothing, but a couple days later I went in and they came up to me and said they found something in the back that was for me, and I finally got the package! I'm so glad I got it! Now I gotta work on getting that key taken away from my brother so he doesn't do this to me again! Either that or get a new mail box that nobody has a key to. *sigh*
